Cookie Domain

I've noticed that IE7 seems to forget the cookie set on this site to show full articles on the main page.
Could it be that setting "domain=.worsethanfailure.com" in the setDisp() JavaScript function on the main page makes the cookie only visible to subdomains?
I note that the site now directs both www.worsethanfailure.com and www.thedailywtf.com to http://worsethanfailure.com

Same problem with FF 2.0.0.6. And it just appeared recently too, what would support your theory

My WTF cookie is set for the plain www-less hostname, and it never forgets. FFX 2006.
