TDWTF's registration WTF

  •  Oh it's easy to make fun of others :)

I have just decided to create an account to answer one of the post in the forum but the registration process was so wonderful I decided to post about it instead (And I apologize if I am not the first).

Once the straightforward registration form of this very own website had been successfully submited I was graced with a welcome message that I liked: I was signed in. No need to wait for the validation email - which always hit the spam folder -. No need to log in again. Obviouly I had already entered my login name and my desired password so no one would dare to ask me again - erm.. - . Everything was fine i was now signed in.

But sadly, it seem TDWTF's community server uses a slightly schizoprenic user authentication process which allow you to be logged in a locked out account with invalid user credential as the screen I received next can confirm.

It clearly says I'm signed in (top right) but with an error box stating otherwise and despite my "successful" login message on the previous page.

Login out and in again fixed the issue :)

  • Welcome to Community Server, get used to it.

  •  No surprises there.

  • This reminds me, why are we still using this crap?

Indeed, there are many other sites you could be whining and complaining about.

Because Alex believes it to unfeasible to upgrade to a piece of software with less UI quirks.

Are you volunteering your time to do all the work for him?
