Reply as linked topic doesn't work too well

Continuing the discussion from 🇹🇭🇪 🇱🇮🇰🇪🇸 🇹🇭🇷🇪🇦🇩:
The first quote gets removed entirely for some reason.
-
That always happens, no matter where you're replying
-
always?!?!?!?!
I know that various kinds of blocks get escaped.
But the first quote getting eaten and the second one surviving just escapes all sanity.
-
IIRC it won't get eaten if there's any text before it and the beginning of the post being quoted.

Not quite. Try it with this post…

And this one too

Just to be sure ;)
-
It always removes the first quote
-
But what about two quotes?
@accalia said:IIRC it won't get eaten if there's any text before it and the beginning of the post being quoted.
Will it happen here too?

Only one way to find out…

As I said, TDEMSD.

Trying something else
<!---->Knew it!

FUCK YES
-
I guess that if you complain about it on meta.d they’ll “fix” it by removing all the quotes from the original message...
The Full Quote function seem to have the same behavior. “Quote whole post”? LIAR!
-
Oh, @vinduv, I have a nice little buggy thing!
-
-
-
clicking “Quote whole post” when replying to your post triggers a JS error in Firefox (but I thingk I’ve already seen it in other cases)
EDIT: Yes, it’s not linked to the
contained in the HTML comment.
-
-
I meant that commented quotes trigger quote notificiations.
Do they not?

It tends to happen when quoting image-only posts

Doesn’t look like it did... Try with[ quote=""]
, maybe?
-
-
-
Nope, can't get it to trigger one.
-
It always removes the first quote
Not quite ...
If there is no text before the nested quote, the nested quote will survive:

See? Just like @accalia was telling you.

IIRC, they won't touch it because nested quoting is a plugin. Of course, IMRI.

If there is no text before the nested quote, the nested quote will survive
But not if that nested quote is itself nested; it's lost then

Say what?
-
-
Isn't that the only way to make nested quotes anyway?
-

Pretty much. Though if you do a quote all on a post that has nested quotes, it will dupe everything except the deepest quote.
-
Where has this famed quote all button been hidden anyway.
-
-
How did I miss that

How did I miss that
If it was @accalia asking that, I'd understand, because she's currently blindfolded (last I knew as of posting). You don't have that excuseBut then, you're a sword, and swords don't normally have eyes… so…
