Emoji oddity

Is it just me, or does it look like the stick-person has a penis on the end of their leg?
-
flagged for worst mental image of the morning!
-
At normal resolutions (even on highDPI screens), the picture is not distinguishable to that level of detail.

Well, my timezone is GMT
cool. i do tend to operate on that time zone myself, but i still use morning/afternoon/eveniong to refer to the state of the local sun. and as the sun has not yet reached its zenith, even though it is after 1200 it's still morning.
so there! :-P
-
What about the fact that it he has somehow broken his spine in order to bang his head on the desk?

Proves how serious it is!
-
I’m still spontaneously seeing this emoji with its indented meaning. Probably not long, though...
-
-
This is the worst artwork I've ever seen.

Because time zones aren't crazy enough already?!
-
I feel like setting this as my avatar, but it would need some mad hatting courtesy of @abarker first

they can always be at least 20% crazier

So THAT'S what that emoji is supposed to be! I've seen it used and always thought it looked like an ant pushing a box. I guess I read too much B.C.

If you think that's where penises go, you might want to see a doctor.

I had a couple ides here, take your pick:
- He just head-desked right out of his hat:
- He likes to hang his hat on his monitor:
Both transparent for your avatar pleasure!

Well, it has to go somewhere, and at the end of the leg is as good a place as any (though it may make sizing shoes a bit difficult).
-
:hatdesk:
-
Can I have a hat, and a monocole ... yeah ... that would be super awesome and less creepy than my slightly creepy picture.
-
The mad hatter thread is over there
-
Damn, the background isn't actually a solid color. it's a subtle gradient. That makes expanding the canvas more difficult.
-
How's this?
Alright, here's a more appropriately-sized mustache if you want it:
-
I approve! much thanks.

The foot seems like one of the worst places you can have a penis coming out of. How would you even walk?

Reminds me of that old game where you go to google images and search "[your name] the hedgehog".For example, here's "Sam the hedgehog"

Welcome to Discour... wait...
-
:) we isolated the bug btw, should have it fixed for next release
-
On a related term, the upload screen still shows my very first avatar, despite having changed it a dozen times.
also, kinda funny:
-
Its the same bug, very very annoying.
If you upload an image that already exists in the uploads table stuff gets weird. Which totally sucks for the workflow here.

Amateur. I'm on 40-something. CBA to check now.

Like trying to replace an existing site-specific emoji? Takes ages...
-
@zogstrip could this be the same bug?
-
I seem to have reverted to my original avatar. New ones aren't being hatted/shown.
-
Actually, it's not just replacing them.. took ages to be able to be used as well - see http://what.thedailywtf.com/t/emoji-testing/7377/2 (admin only guys - most of you won't be able to get there)
-
No, it's not the same bug since emoji aren't stored in the
uploads
table.@PJH You might want to update to latest, I fixed the emoji issue
-
-
@PJH kicks off update. While old forum import is running. TDWTF-ers fetch popcorn. Hilarity ensues. Tonight at 11 UTC, only on Shitstorm TV.
-
I'm less worried about that, which is presumably just a big old stream of SQL stuff going on.
More thinking about the stink over frequent updates around here. How close are we to the next beta release, anyways?

I'd wager we find the largest amount of bugs (as a community, maybe not in total) so I guess that it might only seem it's a lot. Then again, I'm not following the updates topic so I might be wrong.

I assumed we're in constant beta around here :P

We used to get to the latest every morning. There was a lot of stink. We got new bugs all the time.

Yes, but previously it was more like alpha.
-
See this topic:
http://what.thedailywtf.com/t/petition-to-move-off-latest/5535?u=boomzilla
And we can take further discussion over there, too, ideally.
-
I fixed this today
which makes changing avatars work much more reliably.

+1 for admitting it might still fail
