Because Dry-Erase marker doesn't show up on wooden tables.

While not a fully standards-compliant implementation of Web 0.1 (due to the lack of important elements such as the wooden table), this was simply too good to pass up:
http://noonebelongsheremorethanyou.com/
The first page states "Ok, Here I go. I'm going to make this whole website right now on this dry-erase board."
Clicking the little pink arrow to take you to the second page brings up "Actually, I don't own a dry-erase board. This is the top of my refrigerator." It only gets better from there.
Bonus points for the "website" being little more than a powerpoint slideshow in website form. Even though it's just an advertising site for some new book, I had to give up my anon lurker status to share it with you all.

That was awesome! Full marks for originality, at least.

Note how she uses XHTML to display that picture...

I laughed and laughed and laughed. If her book is even half as funny it should be worth picking up. =)

What clever marketing. Nice and original!

That was great! It's better than those MySpace profiles I keep stumbling upon.
