  • I know this happens a lot, but I figured this was worth posting just for the sheer number of variables.  Poor naming conventions, though.

  • I hope you removed your address from that list, otherwise you'll set yourself up for even more spam when a harvester comes along. ;-)

  • I think he's beyond worrying about that at this point.

  • Plus, when's the last time you got spam that was actually addressed to
    you?  Usually the to: address/list is completely random (although
    sometimes the addresses are lexically similar).

    I'm always getting spam addressed to me.  Oddly enough it seems to be coming from me too.  Always wanting me to use this odd password to open this more oddly named zip file and run the program inside.  How many different attachments am I sending myself that it keeps wanting me to do more unzipping and running?

    </joke>

  • Most of my spam "comes from" either myself or another random string of text @mydomain. I always put it down to spammers assuming that people won't just outright spamblock their own domain.

    So true.

  • How the fuck do you have 10000 spam messages?  I've used a junk Hotmail account for 6 or 7 years now for all kinds of things and I only get about 30 spams a day (10 to the inbox, 20 to the filters).

  • I guess I sign up for more stuff than you.  Ever since Yahoo! increased their storage I haven't bothered deleting them.  It stays fairly steady since they delete bulk mail older than a month though.

  • 2 years ago, when I finally closed the ISP account I've had since 1996, I've been receiving about 150-200 SPAMs a day in the e-mail account there, so having 10.000 SPAM messages really isn't that much...
