This is the first time my memory says the word "GameStation" has penetrated my consciousness. The story sounds kinda familiar, so I may have read about it before, but it's definitely not important enough to get long term filing status.
Link it again in a few months and I'm sure I'll click again (I was #15 according to the discocounter).

Occam's Razor says people are clicking the link because they've probably forgotten that tepid not-very-funny story from literally 5 years ago. It's not the kind of thing you file into long-term memory, it's the kind of thing you read, say "hah" to yourself, and move on.
The bigger question is, why does PJH remember it after all this time? Either 1) he only recently found it, in which case he's tragically unhip, or 2) he actually thought it was funny enough to keep in his brain all these years, in which case he's obviously an alien.

No idea about PJH, but I remember it because it's kind of a trigger. It's extremely hard to believe that the EULA has to be too long for a normal person to read to be accurate, and very easy to believe that the EULA is too long to read so that the company can pull some shit in the future.
If they were serious, they would add an option to push it directly into our own git repo or equivalent to run text searches for keywords and track changes.
Maybe I just don't have a sense of humour. That could be it.

it takes a fair bit of dexterity but one could count in base 3 up to ~60k
and counting in base 4 (you have to drop the thumbs for lack of joints, giving only 8 digits) up to ~65k but of course you need a LOT of dexterity

Going on a complete tangent, are names for fingers even a thing in English? That one is a literalism from Dutch; the only ones I've ever heard are thumb, index finger, and pinky. And when I hear people mentioning it online at all they are often messing about with first/second/third/longest/etc fingers.

Thumb, index finger, middle finger, ring finger, little finger / pinky.
