Please use caps only

  • The website of a Belgian rock festival pushes it beyond the wooden table scheme.

    Pukkelpop

Should they want to compare names easily, or avoid accents, or even directly fax it and scan the faxes, any reason that comes to mind is a WTF.

  • Sorry, I don't see it. It's a cool looking site. Maybe you saw an old version?

  • The site says:
"Please pay attention to mention only one group per field and to write in capitals only."
Allow me to repeat: "write in capitals only"

EDIT: wtf is this forum software doing? "Last post a few seconds ago by Thief^. 1 replies." but I'm supposed to be the 2nd reply and my post wasn't being shown on the page yet. It's now correct of course.

    It's about this little line:

Please pay attention to mention only one group per field and to write in capitals only.

  • Sorry, I should have provided a screenshot

  • This is the same as sites that insist you enter credit card or phone numbers without dashes (or with dashes for that matter). They're too lazy to do even minimal text-massaging behind the scenes.

  • They don't even do any verification - I just submited a combination of lower case, upper case, whitespace and punctuation.

I also gave completely garbage for the address (asd for the postal code and house number???)

  • Ah, I get it now!

Yeah, that doesn't make much sense.

  • Must be some dumb mailrobot to webmaster ... almost better than fax, but eh, ...

By the way it would have been fun to get a warning due to the use of mixed case. I TOLD YOU TO USE CAPS !

Makes you wonder... If they don't know how to compare strings case-insensitively, what are the chances they know what SQL injection means, let alone how to prevent it?

If they don't know how to compare strings case-insensitively, what are the chances they are using a database that can be "injected" in the first place?

In that case, be sure to embed some inline <script> and <img> tags for the "postmaster" who receives your submission in his email. :)
