Out of random curiosity

  • How many people on this forum are, like myself,  from the greater boston area? What do you love about it and what do you hate about it?

  • Love: Lots of bars, walking around, North End food.

Hate: the sports teams and their fans who clog the T on game day, every attempt at Asian food I've ever encountered here.

  • Unfortunatly the bar I tend to go to the most happens to be right in the kenmore fenway area. An Tua Nua.  I will admit though that the sheer levels of stupidy exhibited on game night can be an amusing site as long as your not trying to find parking or take the T.

I avoid kenmore like the plague.  My favorite bar is probably the North End Beer Works or a place called Sunset Cantina located in Brighton.

Sunset Cantina isn't bad at all.  Been there a few times.  I got to An tua nua cause I'm friends with most of the staff there.  I'm also in central square cambridge a lot doing photo at various club nights.

  • Is curiosity ever truly random?

They say that curiosity killed the cat. Was it an act of God or was it feline suicide?

If it was an act of God and acts of God are truly random does curiosity inherit this property?

If it was feline suicide does the cat still go to kitty heaven?

If there is no God does it matter?

Will David Ortiz (.226/.329/.427) find his bat ... and if he does will it be buried in the floor of the new Yankee Stadium?

If there were a God would he care?

Is curiosity ever truly random? Nope. something sparks it.

They say that curiosity killed the cat. Was it an act of God or was it feline suicide? feline suicide.

If it was an act of God and acts of God are truly random does curiosity inherit this property? I guess by that logic curiosity would be devine.

If it was feline suicide does the cat still go to kitty heaven? No! Kitty hell all the way. It's the perfect place for my sphynx (hairless) cats, they'd love it..

If there is no God does it matter? Not sure it matters either way.

Will David Ortiz (.226/.329/.427) find his bat ... and if he does will it be buried in the floor of the new Yankee Stadium? No.  and File Not Found!

If there were a God would he care? Not in the slightest unless the bat was made out of spear that pierced jesus. Then we'd have a cheasy action adventure flick on out hands.

There is a God and he loves all of you.  And since acts of God are not random (because those acts are intended to fill a purpose in a particular persons life).  I don't see that curiosity is suicide if it were to lead to death. A mouse that got killed by a trap due to his curiosity of cheese wouldn't result in a suicide, the mouse didn't plan or intentionally cause his death, it was beyond his understanding and the trap set by a human killed him. Same thing with cats or humans. Theres a difference between hanging a noose and going, "Hey, what does this do.... whoops!"

Please stop spreading 'the word' here.

    No one cares. Really.

His name is ammoQ and He is just.

Just because you don't care, that doesn't mean no one does. Even if someone reads it and doesn't post a comment, that is fine with me.  I'm just disagreeing with the thread and I stayed on topic. You're such a pessimistic person sometimes and you like to complain about what everybody says. I just have some hope and I'm not forcing my beliefs on you, just proclaiming them. I'm sure there is another Christian programmer out there that might get some hope from reading it instead of reading all these negative views that are so shallow.

  • @pitchingchris said:

Nope. Just religious zealots who spread their spam.

Get a sense of humor and take the stick out of your ass.

They're shallow because you deem them as negative? That doesn't sound like you're just proclaiming. That's judging, buddy.

No way! God loves everyone! Except homosexuals, and jews, and brown people, and people who don't believe in YOUR image of god.

But I am the shallow one.

He doesn't hate the people, he hates the sin. And there is nothing about hating brown people, thats a misconception on your part.

I thought you said he was loving? Now he hates people??

    WTF!

I am really glad you chose to come to an IT forum to spread the gospel. God would be so proud. Saving african babies or doing something charitable is so over rated these days!

Sin? Like worshiping some other god? Didn't "He" order the genocide of an entire culture for that very reason? That sounds like love to me. It also sounds like racism too.

But it's not a misconception about God hating the homosexuals, Jews, and people who don't believe in your image of God? Or is it that they're just not people?

My God (Allah) hates the sinner and the sin.  He's also the driving force behind the world's fastest growing religion.  When's the last time anyone has seen a miracle out of the X-ian god?  My God blew up three of your buildings and your god couldn't even stop it.  Seems pretty weak to me.

My god has a bigger dick than your god!! </CarlinTribute>

  • <sarcasm>Personally I feel that this existensial diatribe against each other's religions, ,that you all seem to be partaking in, is perpendicular to the true hypotenuse of masculinity.</sarcasm>

  • another thread to lock *sigh*
