M-Audio Delta rev. B Gimme a hand, guys!

  • I was wondering if any of you out there own this card. mine has just the 15 pin D type connector on the back. i believe it's "male", as in it has pins instead of holes.

I aquired this from my girlfriend's old computer, and she didn't have the breakout box, so i want to wire up my own. If any of you are handy with a multimeter, and have one of these, could you tell me what pins on the D connector go to which of the four inputs/outputs on the breakout box? Then i'll go down to my hobby store and buy the cable and the connectors and wire it all in a box. also, since this is out of warranty anyhow, if you want, could you open the breakout box up and see if there's a PCB in there that matters? (IE does it have any components on it, or is it just to hold the connectors in place)

Once again, i need the pinouts for J3 on the card.

thanks in advance to anyone who even contemplates doing this in their free time for me.

    Do you know if it's a delta 44, 66, 1010?

I have an MAudio projectmix at home, don't know the deltas at all, but you might find the pinouts online.  The user manuals are on the maudio website, though it doesn't seem to have that sort of info.

all writing on the card says M Audio DELTA REV-B, the main IC says [ICEnsemble ENVY 24 ICE1712-BBABA] If these are "stereo" in outs, it has 2 in, two out, Or two stereo outputs and 4 mono inputs. I can't really tell because i haven't really examined the board very much, Suffice it to say excluding ground there are 8 connections running to the D connector from the PCB. I've been looking online for some time(months), so now i am just gunna ask around the forums i frequent.

  • Sounds like a 44 (4 ins, 4 outs).   Take a look at http://www.m-audio.com/images/global/manuals/Delta44_Manual.pdf, does that look like your card?

If that ends up being it, it's probably way faster/cheaper to buy the breakout box...here's one on ebay...no card, just the breakout box and the cable, $25.

yah, that's the one. I could just buy a box or whatever, but i want a custom box more than i want to spend money on it. :-D

  • Ah, ok, well, good luck :)   Not having one, there isn't much I can help with, but now that you know what it is, maybe you'll have more luck... I've seen a description of the breakout box that makes it sounds pretty simple: http://lalists.stanford.edu/lau/2002/10/0229.html
