If you don't have an internet connection then you can contact us via the internet

It doesn't say you have to contact them from the same device.

Yeah, but it's still a bit like saying 'Don't have a phone? Call us on 0800 [numbers] to get one!'
-

No it doesn't, however it's not unreasonable to infer that the wording 'No internet Connection?' suggests a non-internet method of contact has been made available.

I'm not saying they're being reasonable - I'm saying it's not impossible for people to use this alternative unlock procedure.
And don't tell me you can't send emails with your phone; it's 2014 after all.

I can tell you that I can't send emails with my phone. I've been using one of these:For the best part of 15 years. It's on its third battery, second fascia and lasts a week before having to recharge.

How's Discourse working on it?
The battery life in smartphones is really pitiful, but the internetz + music on a morning commute are a godsend.

The infiniscroll is a bit laggy...
I use one of these with Rockbox firmware for my rail commute:
I might start using a tablet as my rail service has free wifi available.

I'm completely lost at what you're trying to tell me.

That I have a smartphone, and was playing Devil's Avocado

Well, my response was to your avocado, not to you as you, and even more so, your avocado was making up a hypothetical situation, so your response was totally out of place - your hypothetical avocado didn't have Lumia, or any other smartphone. And if it did, it would be able to send email.

Not everyone wants a smartphone; many are happy with 3310s and their like.

Agreed. I have never owned a smart phone. I do have devices that can pick up WiFi assuming someone is willing to share their AP to the internet.
Assuming I don't make calls (which is true), my phone's battery can last a month without a charge. I usually charge it before going on a trip in the case I need to use it.But I think the majority of people using computers have some sort of access to the Internet, maybe not on that particular device though.

A good point well made. I have one of these in an older system, and Kingston doesn't seem to offer any software similar to Samsung Magician that I use for my other drives.
SSD Fresh was featured in the download section of a PC magazine that I subscribe to so I thought it reasonably safe to give it a try.
The software had some benefit, but the experience was disappointing at best. At least when I uninstalled it my browser wasn't kidnapped and directed to one of those annoying 'We're so desperately sorry to see you go. Why in the name of all things sane did you uninstall our wonderful product? How can you possibly survive without us? We demand to know why!?' survey pages.

My favourite is Windows wifi connectivity troubleshooter running out of ideas, and offering
- Ask someone to remote into your computer and help
- Check the Microsoft website
- Search for solutions online
when it couldn't recover my internet connection.

Not everyone wants HD TV, too. But it is safe to assume majority of people who use internet have a mobile phone (not necessary smartphone) that can access internet and send email. Users of really old phones are left out without ability to unlock the software in OP. Just like users of similarly old TVs have the image cut by 1/4 at the sides.

Losing 1/4 of the image doesn't really affect the ability to enjoy the show though.

Or they know someone who does. Or they know where the local library is.

It does when something important happens at the edge of screen (rare, but it happens) or when score counters get cut off during match or have illegible text due to low resolution (is it 6 or 8? Wait, it's 3. I think).

Until 6 months ago, I was one of the minority. Still would be (it's really nice being disconnected at times!) except my place of employment requires a smart phone to use Google Authenticator. Because we need to connect to the VPN to do our job. (The only people here that use Windows are the win-devs.)
