Sears website wtf

I generally don't use Sear's website because there's a store right near my house. However, they were out of stock of something I needed, so I go online. I find it, add it to the basket, click checkout and enter my email and password. It complains that my password has expired due to inactivity. Nobody else expires passwords, but this can be forgiven. They offer to email me a temp password which I can use to login and change. No problem. A minute later, the email arrives with my new temp password, which by some random chance, looks EXACTLY like my old password. Whatever. I login again, only this time, it complains that my email address can't be found -- would that be the one they just used to look up my password? I wound up logging in anonymously as a guest to complete the purchase.
I have to say, if the rest of Sears is as f'd up as this website, I can understand how K-mart, fresh out of bankruptcy, was able to buy Sears!

I always use the "guest" option, when available, and will go out of my way to use sites that don't require me to log in. I can handle typing my cc# every time!

I bought an electric razor at Sears once and then they got to the point where they wanted to record my address and other info in their system. I told them I simply didn't want my info in their system. I do not wish to receive mailings. I thought the cashier was going to have a heart attack. INVALID CUSTOMER RESPONSE! FATAL EXCEPTION ERROR .... DOES NOT COMPUTE.

You'll regret that attitude when the razor is unable to verify your license through the Sears mainframe and switches to "mangle" mode.

Have you ever bought a razor at Sears before? All they have is "mangle" mode.
