Chrome whaaaaaaaaaaaat‽‽‽

So apparently Chrome has a new 'thing'. A kind of login button to the left of the minimize/maximize/close combo. It displays part of the currently logged in user. Clicking it shows you who's logged on and gives you to opportunity to switch users or go incognito.
On the plus side: Chrome thinks I'm a ninja.
Even though it fucking uses my G+ mugshot on other places ...
-
Google is the internet, you are logged into Google, therefore you are logged into the Internet.
Seriously though, I can only see this being useful to remind me I need to log out of Google.
-
I wonder how it interacts with tools which add buttons to the title bar (like DisplayFusion).
My guess would be “badly”.
-
Wasn't Chrome the browser that removed each and every button there exists not so long ago?

I’m under the impression that Chrome started the current “everything in the hamburger button” fad. I may be wrong, though.

You are right. My question was rhetorical.
-
I don't have that in Linux.

I don't have that in Linux.
Probably because it's much easier to fuck up a specific window decorator than to make generic code that fuck ups any decorator you can encounter.
-
Aww, I uninstalled Chrome just 2 days ago. Now I won't get to see what nonsense Google comes up with.

Related: Chrome on a nexus 6 under lollipop defaults to adding your open tabs to the OS app switcher.
That's right. It defaults to new windows and does away with tabs.
-
yeah that's new behavior.... i'm not sure i like it TBH...

Sounds like IE on WP8. I hate it. I would hate it less if you could close the tab by closing the "window". BUT IT ISN'T THE CASE!!!

I turned that shit RIGHT THE FUCK OFF. I await Google making it non-optional.
-
I wonder if Mozilla will let themselves get inspired by that ...

i havent yet. might soon. giving it time to jell and see if i like it. ti does make it easier to get to all my open tabs and is an incentive not to have a bajillion and a half tabs open on mobile.

Yeah, I have "system" titlebar stuff turned off, but turning it back on doesn't show it either.

Chrome has a new 'thing'.
What version are you running? I'm on the stable branch, so I'm at major version 39.
-
I'm running the stable branch, nothing fancy
Versie 39.0.2171.95 m

A certain Google-run site we use at work has a "Keep Me Logged In" button on the login page which does nothing. A co-worker finally figured out it only works if you're using, and signed into, Google Chrome.
Log into a web browser? TDEMSYR.

I don't understand why people have a problem with this concept.

It's really nice. I can open a tab on my desktop and if I want to see it on my phone I can.
-
Used to be an icon in the top-left corner if you used the multi-user capabilities in Chrome.
-
I wonder how it interacts with tools which add buttons to the title bar (like DisplayFusion).
My guess would be “badly”.Yeah, I'm wondering, too, since I use UltraMon. That button hasn't popped up yet.

I guess we now know that Chrome 39.0.2171.95 is radioactive?

Explains why I don't need a flashlight to pick up my dog's poop at night...
[edit]
@powerlord said:Have you considered seeing a doctor about that?
Also explains that.

I find it easier to Chrome-to-Phone the url than to dig through all my desktop tabs (from multiple computers) to find whatever I'm looking for. Although if I'm not actually at my computer I guess doing that is better than nothing.

I tend to use plastic poop bags, they work a lot better.

No, that would involve silently altering the original message. Nice try.
