confirmed here too

I can't see it
Just regular Discospinner.
-
-
Nor there.
Nor anywhere, even with Ctrl + F5.
-
I can see it, too!
-
Welp, I can't see it anymore after Ctrl+F5.

CNR on IE11....
-
I'm on Chrome as this machine is still on IE8.
-
well that's odd. that also fixed it for me on chrome....
-
A regular refresh fixed it for me.
-
Argh! I can see it now! :O

Me too!

It seems like the amount of

is increasing over time or so.

Ooh, mine are back again too.

Testing something.
-
Nope, not triggered by writing a post.
-
It's the emojis! I just added one to a post, cancelled it, then went to a new page and there was a single ').
-
Specifically, I think it may just be from opening the emoji dialog.
-
-
Just call me Hanzo.
-
And using the tabs on it.

Is anyone else super surprised that the new Discourse feature created a new, weird bug?
-
-
Feels about ready for Version 2.0 now, doesn't it?
-
Also it's Discourse.
-
I don't know if anyone's noticed, but scroll way down to the bottom of the page to view the brackets at your leisure.
-
@Luhmann you gonna report on meta.d or would you like me to?

Fun bit: Look at the amazing keyboard support for the emoji thing!

.... what keyboard support? the only key i see that affects it is esc to dismiss.
-
Superb. I ended up trying to get a but failing and getting the Create Topic dialog.

i'll file on me lunch break. thanks.

...It stays forever?! I went and posted about being groggy in the emoji thread so I could see what was going on, and navigating through a few threads it keeps showing up.
-
until you refresh the page.
it seems to add a new line every time you navigate to a new thread though....
-
oh
I think I understand why Discourse memory leaks
It never truly unloads everything it has until it refreshes. Whatever's stranded the emoji parentheses, it's stuck in the DOM until a hard refresh. Meaning other things are probably stuck there, invisibly, forever, as well.
-
yes, they seemed to have fixed some of it because leaving a tab open overnight no longer crashes the tab...
-
Sure, but navigating to many threads without reloading would probably cause crashing if we didn't have forced reloads due to updates every few days.

hmm... now there's an idea....
off to write a user script to test things!

Constantly opening/closing new tabs for each topic seems to help with that, even if it doesn't fit the Discovision of how people use forums.

Did anyone else see the title and think it was a Lisp joke?

Repro'd!

Did anyone else see the title and think it was a Lisp joke?
Ah, but it's actually a Ruby joke. Yes?
-
what, how?
-
my fault, its the emoji thing, fixed once you deploy latest. (together with firefox bugs with emoji / better caching for emoji, etc)
