If you're a fan of classic gaming or the Raspberry pi this would be an interesting kickstarter to toss some money at.
I pledged at the $75 level because... well because i want one of these! less than two days and less than $500 to go!

Goddamn auto-start videos!
-
what? seriously? it was a static image in the preview!
grrr... let me fix that....
-
I hope this fails. The last thing the already-completely-saturated indie gaming movement needs is more platforms.
-
Now that you changed the video to a picture, that gives me an opportunity to wonder what it is about 3d printers that they all print diagonally.
-
they don't. it just looks cooler so we tend to rotate our models by 45 degrees before we print them.
;-)

Game platform or hostage note?
Love the copyright infringement, too.
The eNcade's software has been in the works for a while and has been tested online with NES, SNES, and Genesis emulators and we are currently working on bringing more consoles to the list.
Ah, so the entire platform is based around copyright infringement. Awesome.
Demand: We predict that this project will be popular which will require us to keep up steadily with returning the rewards to our backers in a timely manner.
Oh well at least that risk didn't turn out to be a huge problem.

opinion smopinion.
diagonal stripes are cool!

Well, with 42 hours left they're still $400 or so short of their $6500 goal so there's a decent likelihood they won't make it.

oh... you're going to call the men with the jacket that the arms wrap around the back again?
tell doug i said hello and nextime we should do it at his place. I'm missing most of the cards for catan after the last time.
-
oh... you're going to call the men with the jacket that the arms wrap around the back again?
Naw, you're far enough away and I have plenty of weapons close to hand. :)

I don't see many indies taking on NES or SNES development. That's, like, hard.
I still think it's a stupid idea. There's a million of those PSP knockoffs that are three times cheaper and play old games. Hell, they even started putting Android on them recently.
And if you want quality retro gaming, shell out for Shield Portable. Which you can also, you know, develop for.

Now, now, how can you be sure that the end users don't already have the games in cartridge form and are only collecting for archival/backup purposes?
-
The real question is "Can anyone tell what that game is from just the bottom left corner?"
I initially thought it was pokemon x/y, as the bush seems reasonably reminiscent of that. However it probably isnt.
-
One of the Mega Drive Sonic games
-
That thing looks like it has a good d-pad, but I expect it doesn't.

I figured it would be another of the 47 billion Android portable game consoles/microconsoles.
-
That would be less than 100% piracy.
