I called this like years back and I'm too lazy to look up the old thread

Google's finally dumping their Firefox relationship:
Turns out the reason they kept it so long is they (foolishly, if you ask me) signed a three year contract in 2011. So they didn't really have a choice.

hah
or pretty much anything when you google "google firefox blakeyrat site:forums.thedailywtf.com"

Google isn't nearly free enough for Firefox. DDG is really more their style.

Interesting. I wonder how much less money are they getting now. And how will that affect their plans with mobile and the rest.
At this point, it seems they have a lot of mediocre products; browser users slowly leaving them and mobile project not going anywhere fast.
-
They're doing good things for WebGL, though. Epic is friends with them.

Also, it seems like their browser is having issues with some web services. A few times a month we get tickets in about some web site or web service not working. Final resolution is always to tell the user to use Chrome or IE because Firefox is not cooperating with it. Just this week we had one where now Citrix receiver for XenDesktop is not negotiating connections when using Firefox. It works just fine with other browsers though.

I hate the fact I have to use Firefox, Chrome and IE on my PC just because some sites don't work with Firefox.
There is a Japanese hotel booking website I use (mainly as when I am in Japan, I can book a hotel without giving credit card details out (cash is king, etc) and do so at the last minute and know they will have my booking), I have to use Chrome as it won't work with Firefox as it won't accept clicks.
My work has a site where I can submit expense claims (which is handy as I am rarely in the UK) but Firefox won't do anything when I click buttons and Chrome causes the site to bring up errors so I have to use IE, the pain....
I hate Chrome as it treats the user like they are an apple user, you can have it your way as long as your way is the same as what we want.

People still use Firefox?

I do, but only because I'm too stubborn to switch to IE and I hate Google almost as much as I hate Apple.

I probably have 200 tabs open, and like adblock. What choice do I have?

Google's finally dumping their Firefox relationship:
I like how you insinuate that this is an action on Google's part, when everything about that article, and everything else I've seen about the deal suggests that it is Firefox that is moving away from Google...

Firefox that is moving away from Google
That's what I'd claim, too, if my sugar daddy stopped paying me.
I mean, it could be what you say, but that's not the way I'd be inclined to bet.
