Notification language fail
-
I assume this is some kind of localization error, which is pretty strange since I'm en-us.
-
Got a two-fer! I slightly hanzoed the OP by removing the first couple words. I still see the original version, despite F5 and CTRL-F5, but if I edit it again the edit window shows the new text.

Seems to be split about 50/50 between saying "reacties" and "replies".

Have you selected Netherlands at any time?

Have you selected Netherlands at any time?
Honestly I don't know where I'd even go to change language. It's not something I ever have to do anywhere due to en-us locale.
-

In profile preferences, Interface language.
-
It just says (default).
-
And the fact that you didn't know where it was also points to the fact that you hadn't changed it, was just pointing out where you would go in order to muck with it.
-
Now how about the fact that you're apparently supposed to choose a language from the ISO language codes?
That's a programmer UI right there.Just found there's already a recently made topic about this. Is this a recent addition, or just discosynchronity?

Jeff Don't Care?

Didn't he say switching it to show flags would be better when it was pointed out in another bug thread? And then we went into a big conversation about how that was a bad idea due to conflating language and nations causes issues in places like Euroweenie land.
EDIT: here is where he was saying flags

Yes but Jeff was the champion of 'friends don't let friends use developer UI' and here we are...
-
@locallunatic should submit a PR that shows correct flags on the demo site, but includes random flags on the actual commit.
-
I got reacties today, too.
I never chose Dutch, ever, and device it happened on is set to en_US.

No, made it yesterday.

He does:
Probably there should be little flags, not even words. PR would be accepted in this area!

Funny because I've selected Dutch and I don't have 'reacties' but I get
I do however expect my languages not to be mixed up, there seems to be French in my Dutch

The topic is a recent addition.
The facility has been there ages - I simply checked this:
a few days ago in relation to the topics about how the poll functionality is dependant on translating the title of a topic. In various languages. (e.g. http://what.thedailywtf.com/t/topic/4161)
Funny because I've selected Dutch and I don't have 'reacties' but I get
Does this mean a new round of bugs to report?
"Why is there Korean in my chinese?"
"We ran out of cats..." </casual stereotype>

And now, for something completely different:

Jeff Don't Surf.

I love it, Discourse has a random number language selector.
A++ innovative feature.
-
Have some more:
-
Maybe is discolocation fails? Like, trying to predict your language based on where you are. Someone could elaborate on that and add it to the 'pedia.
-
The German and the French mislocalization one were both screenshotted at work, on the same PC in the same building, actually.
-
Exactly.
-
I uncovered the mystery and reported it on meta.d
-
Lol that was my first thought as to what was happening, then i was like 'no, it couldn't be that stupid'
Jokes on me again.

looks like it.
i think it's related to their Travis CI instance (although given the regressions i've seen i do have to ask WHAT CI‽)
-
Wait, so they have a @discoursebot, too?
That's where the avatar for this @discoursebot came from. I nicked it from that discoursebot and added our (old) logo over it.
From memory it may have even been the inspiration for the name.
