If patience (klondike) already tells me that I'm a crappy player

  • While installing a server I was playing this desktop card game to kill the time ...
(see the tip in the left corner at the bottom)

(for anyone who might care: it happened on a opensuse 10.3 box)

  • nevermind...

  • I had a strange thing with Patience, two. However I was using a preview version on windows, so I thought "Well, since KDE4 isn't released yet, it might just be because it's not ready".

Since in your screenshot "KDE4" is in the title bar, I assume that this is also a preview version. So probably this isn't too wtf-y.

    Still a little funny.

(btw, KDE4 is out for openSUSE 10.3 (http://news.opensuse.org/2008/01/11/kde-40-released-with-opensuse-packages-and-live-cd/). Is the bug still in it?)

    Maybe that's where the OP's going wrong - they're using version 1.

  • Considered Harmful

I was playing Windows solitaire a few years back, with standard rules: one deck of cards.  I saw two aces of spades come up at the same time.  That's when I knew the computer was cheating at cards.  I stopped playing Windows solitaire from then on.

    Quick, call the DOJ!

  • Does it display "This game is lost" as soon as the deck is exhausted, or is the bug something subtler?

Damnit, this JS bloated WYSIWYG editor inserted a typo there. I'm sure it did.

The standard message is "This game can still be won!. Good luck to you."

    KDE patience message

As long as you have options left it keeps saying this. When you run out of options it says:

I was not able to reproduce the '*game lost* message, as it was the first time I got that quote (not planning to reproduce it either, as the possible card combinations seems endless to me, though I bet some math freak will have a formula). Only seen so far one of the two above mentioned options.. ... nor do I have a clue what exactly happened (card order etc).
