  • WTF?  That's hillarious!

My favorite so far is this response:

    > how is it possible to have such a wide gathering of
    > stupid poeple asking the same stupid question in the
    > same thread?

    simple: outsourcing

you hit the nail on the head.  i hate the times when I lose a bid on a job that I know went overseas and see a thread later asking a question about how to handle specific things within the bid.

  • I'm a Java Tech Lead, I've been asked similar questions by my foreign-born coders in several different projects.

Well, there's your opportunity to "help out" and make sure that the client "gets what he/she is paying for."

  • sounds like extreme amateur virus writers - how to write jsp code to execute dos commands.  now, with the example that was given, they truly can plug and play in their virus!

<rant>down with outsourcing that is insourced.  down with message forums!  no one should share anything.  All code that is ever needed has already been written, just needs to be recompiled.</rant>

  • Maybe if it was desired to execute a batch file, it might actually be something wanted to do, even if only during some kind of migration phase, or as part of an enterprisey multi-language solution.

  • very sad, but I am not surprised how many people don't realise a command-line is an interface to a program.  You're not talking directly to the operating system.
