Dear lazydiscurse, is there a "mark all (in a category) as read?"
-
Necroing threads is funny up to a point but it's getting boring.
-
Already mentioned here:

Non-onboxed link (to have a larger click target, because the onebox is not very practical):

I’ve not pressed the issue further, since I‘ve learn that the “Dimiss Unread” button is really a “Mute all topics with unread posts” button, which I don’t want to use.

on the roadmap will happen.
-
How the hell did you get to 1.0 without something so basic as 'mark all these things read'?
Serious question. I am genuinely baffled by this mentality.
-
You should have seen the forum before they delayed 1.0 by 3 months.
I'm actually more shocked to learn there's a roadmap at all!
-
I wondered that myself...1.0 seems to be all the things that they wanted, maybe 3.0 will have all of the basic forum functionality.

You know, I did, right? I have been here for 3 months now.
-
How about an 'ignore nice post notification' setting?

A bug in our hiring process

@sam Has anyone suggested "Mark current thread as read" for those times when you're following a game thread and have like a billion unread posts in it and you want to clear the slate and join in the next round?

CLOSEDASDESIGNED
Jeff doesn't believe in long running topics. You should start a new topic at every round! YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!

And yet, he deleted suggestions of topagination on meta.d.
-
Eventually I see us exposing a he bulk selection stuff mods get to regular users and you could fit that there
However simplest thing is to navigate to the end of the topic which effectively does exact what you are describing
-
If I scroll too fast or use the little "end" button the blue dots don't seem to go away; won't that make a grey number of posts I skipped show up?
-
I don't think so - it marks as read up to as far as you get - the grey count is for posts that exist after that point (if any.)
What it won't do (because the dots didn't go away) is actually count them as actually read.

We need @CodingHorrorBot modified so that you can tag someone else with a "You're Doing It Wrong™" (if it hasn't already been done.)

@FrostCat Is Doing It Wrong™<t3293p17>

It worked by the way.

-
How CS breaks threads into pages of 50 comments per page, AFAIK.
-
In other words, it's ok to start new topics all the time (Jeff's recommendation), even if it's the same topic, but multiple pages for easy browsing of said topic instead is a no-no.

Let me just roll my eyes here.

I'd go back and replace that soup with the final version I ended up with that's probably posted somewhere deeper in the topic, but I'm no longer allowed to do so. You know, dicsourse and all.

That's TDWTF's doing unless this forum has been around a lot longer than I thought.
