Dutch Railroad Screw up

  • Last weekend i was walking around the station wondering why my train is always too late (ussualy some bomb threat with turns out to be a school boy who left his backpack in the train )

Then i came across this automated sign and suddenly it hit me:  bill gates is the source of all evil :)

  • How is it Bill Gate's fault that someone's hardrive is failing and needs to be replaced ?

who said it was a faulty harddrive? you know it could possibly be that the operating system corrupted it's own kernel - i've seen it do such on more than one occasion locking up while performing a disk write - nothing wrong with the harddrive

It's Bill's fault because he helped to shove all this gol'darn "technology" down our throats ... him an' that Jobs feller ... computers trackin' trains ... I never. Why, back in my day, we had *people* trackin' trains with *watches* ... schedules were *written down* on *paper* with *pencils* by gum, and we were better for it!

Why, I'll bet that they ... now waitaminnit there, nurse, what's that you're stickin' innnn mmmmmmyyyyyyy iiiiiiiiiivivkvkvvlmvm.m,x.,mxc.  ....

  • Thank you rbriem!

    Made my day :D

  • I'll never understand why people use Windows for mission critical systems when its so inseucre and unreaible.

Right. You want to explain how Windows mangages to so badly bungle the disk I/O that it overwrites the kernal and yet no one but you knows about it?

I couldn't find inseucre and unreaible in the dictionary, but they do seem to describe windows anyhow.

Because VB is easy. I'm surprised we don't see XP Home Edition on some of these systems actually. It's heaps cheaper, and it's still windows, so the dodgy VB app will still run fine.

IRQ handling WTFs can cause this kind of thing.

    plus, what's a 'kernal' ?
