Oh my, they just figured that direct marketing and advertising work very well in contrast to forceful installation.
So there is no need to mask your software. Just tell users that it's spyware and they'll do the rest.

But how do we know the spyware we download for free is as reliable as spyware that costs us money??
Also, I almost wrote spayware there... Now that would be some crazy software.

[/quote]Spyware Quake is obviously a heavily modded variant of Quake that can be used to kill spyware, PSDoom-style. (http://psdoom.sourceforge.net/)
Probably a soon-to-be feature of DarkPlaces, though only Windows version supports local play or net game servers. Linux can only do multiplayer client.
