This company migrates to Active Directory and decides to use it as a centralized repository for user information -- such as the site where the user works, address, phone numbers, manager's name. Perfectly possible. For example, people can have an informal leader (i.e. the most experienced coworker), an official team leader, a project leader and a head of the department; all of them could be described as the "manager" but the employee might not know which one to put into the AD.

  • Yup.  My company directory entry lists a guy I've never even met before as my "direct manager".  Never mind the other 7 bosses I have to report to.

  • It has happened to me more than I would like to admit....

  • ...Is your TPS report ready?
