Good times. Dunno if you follow David Thompson, but his Friday Ephemera posts usually have good stuff.

I'm sure you'll have already seen some of it, in which case you can read other stuff on his blog.

I always knew anime was trouble.
Also, Miami. All of Florida really.

But mostly Philadelphia, based on the article you linked.

Actually reading the article is probably not part of the @blakeyrat persona.

Body is too similar to what you recently posted

"The sexual events that take place in these animated pictures, that's not what happened in this case," Harrison argued Thursday.
animated pictures
ANIMATED PICTURES.
I'm going to have to file that one away for the next time I encounter a pack of weeaboos.
-
That is hilarious.
-
I have no problems with Philadelphia.
-
-
i have others, but any i'd recommend would get me in trouble, so you'll have to find them yourself.
-
This feels like a clear attack on @blakeyrat's previous comment on furries...
-
nah, if @blakeyrat doesn't like furries i've got nothing against that.
I was referring to that sort of link that can get you fired if you view at work.

*gives @blakeyrat a werewolf pup to foster*
Better now?

I reckon @blakeyrat is more of a direwolf person.
-
So you think he's a closet furry? or was that a comment on personality?
stranger things have happened.

?That reminds me, I should totally get my BattleTech minis out this weekend and paint them.
-
That's a blatant rip off of ED-209.
-
Quite possible. Thanks to licensing agreements that are no longer in effect, many of the early BattleTech models were simply lifted from other franchises and are now considered "Unseen" (and practically illegal as far as copyright law) because they no longer have the rights to the design.
-
You can take my Stalker from my cold dead fingers!
-
I don't care, I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me?
-
I'm more of a Marauder guy. In fact, my barely-thought-up-and-never-used mercenary unit has always been called Mott's Marauders, and guess what 'Mech the commander uses?
-
I'm more of a Rico's Roughnecks kind of guy.
-
I can co-exist with any chicken-leg mechs.
Kind of limiting in MWO because they haven't implemented as many of those. You basically just got a Raven, Catapult and Stalker. Then again, the Catapult K2 is the best all-around mech in the game, bar-none, so that kind of makes up for it.
People who like Atlases are the worst. Because 1) they almost invariably suck ass, and 2) Atlas takes 100 fucking tons worth of weight allocation on teammates who almost invariably suck ass.
-
How is MWO these days? I haven't touched it since closed beta, got burned out by the three-map rotation and then forgot about it.
-
They botched the Clan rollout horribly. The game itself, technically, runs pretty smooth (finally! Although you still can't use it with the Steam Overlay), but the Clan stuff is basically pay-to-win, and their fixing of the netcode (again: finally!) kind of makes all light mechs obsolete, except Ravens with ECM.
-
kind of makes all light mechs obsolete
That sucks. About all I ever did was use a Jenner with 4 medium pulse-lasers. I'd run in, fire off 2 - 4 shots, run away and cool down, wash, rinse, repeat.
-
I used to love my sprintin' Raven, which did like 137 kph and had (IIRC) 2 med lasers and a SSMS6 with decent ammo. No AMS, but one thing they haven't ruined (yet) is you can still outrun LRMs if you can do 80-90 or so. I'd always set my throttle to like 70-80 or so, so the idiot lights on the other team come after me, then really open 'er up and aim towards the biggest concentration of friendlies to take care of them.
With the netcode fix, if you tried that stunt on my Stalker, the instant you got in front of my cockpit you'd be eating 3 or 4 ER PPCs, a 1-shot or 2-shot kill on a Jenner. You can still take big mechs if they're alone and you can outrun their torso-twist, though.
-
Oh yeah, I also had a "Gaussapult." It was a Catapult K2 pretty much completely stripped down to nothing and then fitted with a pair of Gauss Cannons. Top speed was something stupid like 25 kph, but it was very OP. I mastered the Atlas eyeball-cockpit shot and people really didn't appreciate my build because of that.
-
I had a buddy who built one with a AC-20 and literally no other weapons. He had like ... 14? shots I think. Ran about 40 kph, max.
He was surprisingly successful with it.
-
BTW if you haven't played in awhile, ECM is HUGELY overpowered right now. They've fortunately finally fixed the matchmaking so it won't drop one team with 3 ECM Ravens and the other with no ECM at all, those matches suuucked.
Honestly, I don't care about the table game, I think they should remove ECM altogether.
-
-
Feh. I like the Raven, because it looks like a (believable) jet cockpit on legs, RoboTech style. Stalker is the same, but instead of a jet cockpit, it's like a Cold War bomber cockpit. Catapult noses are too stubby, and their missile pods look like dumbo ears.
Note I'm talking about the MWO versions; the Stalker apparently was drawn by a developmentally-disabled 5-year-old and looks like BOILED ASS in the original sourcebooks.
