A Comcast WTF...

  • So, I never received my bill from Comcast (now Time Warner) last month, so I called them up. They said they would send me another copy. This is what showed up a week later:

Yup, 6 pages of screenshots of their fancy shmancy billing software

  • The wooden table is a nice touch.

  • I too, am royally impressed by the wooden table.

  • It looks like you got a premature bill. AFAIK the billing process goes: print a screenshot of the billing software, take a picture (this is where you should intervene to ensure the process completes, by the way), send it to the billing department who uses OCR to get the data into Word, rub out all the nonsense caused by the wooden table in the picture, copy and paste all of this into an Excel spreadsheet with the proper letterhead, then print it out and sends it to you in an envelope.

(well, someone had to do it - you'd rather they not, but this is TDWTF)

  • Hahahahahahahahaha. Nice professional job there. About the only thing worse would have been a handwritten one.

+2 points for the printout/wooden table reference, too

  • I actually had the pleasure (cause it was funny) of seeing some of the reporting queries these ppl create....

Basically we asked then for access to a certain table .. what we got back was a bit shocking...

Brace yourself its a bit long ....

  • was too long to post ...

Basically they are making spreadsheet into a database table by using selects instead of ohh say .... inserts ...
