Does anyone understand Mercury/32 that might be able to help me correct an error?

Hello, I am trying to setup Mercury/32 and Pegasus Mail on my network, but in the Mercury SMTP Client I am getting a message that states "Connection Error during handshake with _______ failed. Error FF servicing queue job.". How can I fix this? It appears that I can download e-mails, but not upload them.
Also, I was wondering how Norton AntiVirus would work to scan the e-mails. If the e-mails are downloaded using Mercury (Mercury doesn't open the messages from what I understand), and saves the messages to a network share, would the messages be scanned when they were opened on the workstation using Pegasus Mail? Is there any danger in the messages being saved to a network share that may not have AntiVirus protection? Thanks..

A good place to start for info on mercury would be here, although you won't find much info on mercury 32, seeing as it's isotopes range from 194 to 204.
As for pegasus, you're on your own with questions about mythical flying horse things.

<stupidity>Would anyone be able me with securing Mercury?. PMail.com has stopped releasing updates and it is too much hassle to migrate my mail accounts. New software would also require a hardware upgrade</stupidity>
