What? Were you eight when you made this site?

  • The goggles!! They just exploded
Err, can anyone else visit this site and tell me if they went blind?

If you havent, try visiting the main site as well. Try reloading the main site and see where you land. Now, try browsing it. Oh crap, try to avoid being fascinated by it.

  • Holy crap that's ugly. I'm tempted to click the 'report abuse' link.

The view source is interesting, but my favorite part is from tidy's attempt to validate it.

He could have saved him a lot of bytes if he used a stylesheet instead of inline styles. 80% of the bytes is markup :X

But the worst part about the site? It changes the windowsize and
-position :X LEAVE MY BROWSER ALONE you scriptkiddy :P I'll decide for
myself if I want to view your site fullscreen, thank you very much...

  • Yeah, messing with my browser's "Back" button, scroll position, windowsize, position, or anything else should be a crime punishable by jail time.

This isn't really a WTF. Jodi.org is an experimental/artsy site

    Ahem....

  • That's actually a pretty cool site, take this for instance: http://text.jodi.org/

  • Looking at jodi.org makes me nostalgic for another avant garde website from the dot-com era, word.com. The name now belongs to Merriam Webster, so don't bother looking there. However, you may get some clues from archive.org (check the pre-2000 links). I had a lot of trouble looking. Everything's hit-and-miss in the archive.

An example I remember was the text of a short story placed in a drop-down select.

    Example

  • Calling that stuff art is a wtf... experimental... maybe with drugs? on map.jodi.org you can find some links that go to strange sites, some with the remark "created under the influence of <drug here>". on jodi.org they just seem to forgot that...

Yeah, like artists ever use drugs. And how can it be art if it's done with computers? Everyone knows the internet is exclusively for big business and geeks without girlfriends, not art. Art is what those stiffs used to do with paint before thay died of not knowing any VB.

BTW, thanks for the reminder, I haven't looked at jodi for years.

  •
So is this game an actual game with some HTML thrown in? As a side note, viewing the source of that page in Opera shows a significantly different document. Something to do with null bytes I'm guessing.
Looks like the MacOS port of Quake.
