How do you put a post under more than one category?
-
For example; if I wanted to put a post under
General
andFunny Stuff
?I can see that there are some combinations that I can use. Are these preset? Is it possible to make a custom combination?

“Bug” and “One Post” are actually subcategories of “Meta”. So if you post in one of them you will get “Meta” before it.
I’m pretty sure the data model used by DC does not support multiple categories.
-
Ah that makes sense. To me it looked like it represented multiple categories rather than a subcategory.

@VinDuv has basically covered it. You can have top level categories (Meta, General, Side bar) and each top level may contain zero or more categories (like Bug and One Post under Meta.) Posts can only go in one category.
And that's about it. I believe there was talk of adding a third level, but don't think that'll be along any time soon - not that it's something I think we'd need.
See http://what.thedailywtf.com/categories for the full list available to you and a more graphic representation of what I've described.

I will just point out that he asked this because he moved my thread! Without asking! Elitist leader bastard.

Sorry man, I asked this question because I wanted to leave it in General and put it in Funny Stuff too.
I was trying to find the jokes thread, looked in funny stuff (to no avail) and realised it probably predated the funny stuff category. I eventually found it in general. I just thought it'd make the thread more discoverable seeing as the site search is horribly broken.
Move it back if you like. I think it's a good thread, I thought it'd be more discoverable in funny stuff.

I forgot my sarcasm tags again, didn't I?

I wasn't sure so I err'd on the side of caution. That's the problem with text based communication ;-)

Hands up if you present on the autism spectrum somewhere.

Should the level of your hand be proportionate to where on the spectrum you fall?

If that appeases your inner CDO, do so. Those who have a less rigid requirement to approaching the world can simply raise their hand as they see fit.
