Muted Categories affecting New topic count
-
If you have a category marked as Muted in preferences (e.g. One Post), then click to view all topics in that category, then return to the main view, the New menu item will include a count of all unread topics in that category, but clicking the "New" item will give no results.
Example: Counter saying 10 new posts:
"One Post" category view (not pictured, 10th new topic):
Also, the block at the bottom of the suggested topics will also include a link for "new topics" counting topics from the muted category, and the hamburger menu will start showing the number of unread items for that category, when it didn't before.

I bet it's related to this older bug.
-
Ah, so this would effectively be a REOPEN because it wasn't actually fixed, even though they said it was.
-
Pretty much.
-
How do you check if categories are muted?
I have 1 new showing even though no new exist. I don't think I have muted categories. Is this a cache issue? or have I missclicked to mute a category (I don't want them muted, even though some of topics are THE WORST)? or is it, as impossible as it may sound, a discourse bug?
-
It's gone now. @PJH no need to impersonate me and read through my PMs to get a sneak peak at the sexy @PJH/ @Arantor / @Algorythmics erofic whilst "claiming" to troubleshoot my problem. it was just a lowly cache fail.
LEAVE MY PMS ALONE! THEY ARE PRECIOUS TO ME

What‽ Discourse regressions? But they have a tests directory that stuff has to pass!

$ cp -r ./source/* ./tests/
$ cp -r ./tests/* ./stable/
PASSED!

Meh...easier to just pretend the tests do anything useful.
OH!

Of course, this all assumes that the tests are anything more than "Does it compile?"
