As it pertains to Discourage...

...I find this post pretty amusing.
-
I demand an options page that infinni-scrolls.

Friends don't let friends create developer UI? WTF is Discourse's UI then? Because it sure as hell feels like developer UI.
-
@codinghorror is TRWTF.
-
I'm still trying to establish if he's more of a RWTF than I am. All signs point to yes though.

It looks like you might need to change your long name.

But to what? Arantor ... is the second worst RWTF?

That is for you to determine. However, TRWTF now belongs to Jeff.

I have amended it but I'm not entirely happy. I was quite content being the resident RWTF.

I suppose you could still be the resident RWTF, since Jeff is no longer a resident.

But I am apparently not the pinnacle of TRWTFhood that I once was

Don't be too hard on yourself; Jeff is a tough act to follow.

True, but not only am I professionally a PHP programmer, I'm also a Zend Certified Engineer (though thankfully NOT certified in the mess that is Zend Framework which I try to limit my exposure to)... if that's not a RWTF, I don't know what is.

You could keep TRWTF, and we'd just know that you meant "Resident" instead of "Real".

I like the way you're thinking

This is the first forum that I've been a member of that uses Discourse.
It definitely takes some mental adjustments.
There will probably be fewer complaints about the UI once the software becomes more customizable (templates etc).
-
I've made a couple of those interfaces for enterprise apps i've made for our group. Yeah, they're ugly as sin, but they also get the job done in just a few clicks. It's a lot faster to use than the fluffy web shit.
General rule of thumb I go by,
If it's customer facing: Give it a pretty UI
If it's an internal tool meant for a specific job and specific group: Developer UI

I know @PJH has done a lot of tweaks in the CSS to appease our concerns. But so much of the UI is intertwined with how it works that I doubt much more than CSS will be a viable option.

This should totally be a badge

I already rescinded my claim to RWTFness. I genuinely do not feel like I'm TRWTF now.
