Avoiding the appearance of a lengthy survey

This is from the exit survey given by my grad school. Their explanation of what they'll do in the future is absolutely no help to me, since I'll, you know, NEVER HAVE TO TAKE THIS SURVEY AGAIN.

Of course, this is only one question, so it's not really a lengthy survey. They did fail in avoiding the appearance of one though.

They just invented the concept of measuring a survey's annoyance by its area. Because what this one lacks in length, it makes up for in width.

What exactly is the point of the survey? Surely they already know from which department you earned your degree. Is it just some sort of psychological study to see how people handle the survey?
