You do realize that they don't check the Bug section here anymore right? If you want to actually file a bug you've gotta do it on their meta site.
-
I let @PJH decide if he can be assed to report the issue, or fix it himself.
I can't be assed to leave our bug section.
-
Testing...
Click 'reply to user'
I assume by step 2, you mean submit reply after composing it....
Which I've just done. Currently on step 3 in edit window, clicking the quote button far left in the edit toolbar:

Psh, this is clearly a feature, working as designed.
Editing your own post is like replying to yourself!

It's too bad the quote nests die after the first one or this would be fun.
-
If by which you mean completely arbitrarily can be changed.
Well confounding factors are:
- The post you clicked reply to may never actually be present in your original post
- Quotes from other posts, however, may be..
I fully expect this to be a CANTFIX disguised as NOTABUG, or WONTFIX, because of those, if it gets submitted...

How about just disabling the quote button if it's not going to work right? (eg: edit post)
Seems like an easy fix if you can't do the other stuff.

@locallunatic Dammit why does @pjh complete to @locallunatic - WHAT DID YOU DO
@PJH that 404 page is disgusting.

You do realize that they don't check the Bug section here anymore right? If you want to actually file a bug you've gotta do it on their meta site.
I wonder if they could rig it so that our Bug category links to the Bug category over on meta.discourse ...
It'd probably be full of WTF, but that'd be par for Dicsourse.
-
There's already JSON everywhere,
- Cron job on TDWTF posts base64 JSON data to meta.discourse.org web service
- Web service posts to bug category.
That's actually not a bad idea.
-
Not enough XML
-
-
That's how you got mentioned. I typed @pjh enter and it popped you.
I think this is discourse 'helping' again by using users in post order, you posted before pjh, and instead of just using his name like I asked it to, it wiped out my text and replaced it with you.
-
Wow, that is annoying. So is the notification that I got about the reply that instead linked to the first reply you made to me in this topic.
-
It's just you hitting enter before their ajax can catch up to feed the auto-completer.
Any time you hit enterinstead of space or some other character at the end of an @mention, it uses the first auto-complete choice selected in the dropdown list.
-
Filed under: Working as designed, you're doing it wrongTM
-
What's annoying, is their ajax takes longer to catch up than me typing the @ sign, a full name, and moving on to my next thought - and having it retroactively change what I'm doing.
If I type an @ name, and I'm already typing a second or third word - you've missed your opportunity. Just stop trying to help.

@PJH that 404 page is disgusting.Just for a good dose of quote bombing.
Wow. That is broken as fuck.
-
You seem surprised.
-
The best quotes, when using the quote button doesn't actually quote the original text.

As time goes by, I say that phrase more and more. Not sure if software is getting worse, or I'm becoming more "l33t".
Yeah, software getting worse.

I think you're right. We don't really need to improve our skills because the standard by which we are measured keeps dropping. As a result, just by maintaining our existing skill levels, we look like we are gaining new skills. It's brilliant!
-
Which means for even marginally competent people like me, it's still a win because I continue to outpace those around me until the point where I am revered as a god. A GOD.

I swear I'm going to start editing everything in vim one day because every other freaking editor is trying to autocomplete, autoindent and autofix everything I type.
I mean, I'd like that, but more often than not it completely misses the point and I have to spend more time fixing it's mess. Latest example, Sublime Text and php:
$var = arr
(autocomplete suggests array) Enter
$var = $arrayName = array('' => , );
Why thank you! Yeah, yeah, I should just do
arr
Enter, doing it wrong, but freaking hell if that's not annoying.Chrome keeps redirecting
localhost
to Google search. Firefox keeps redirecting stuff likeserver.dev
to search engine as well. In both cases I have to explicitly addhttp://
. Thankfully they remember after the first time. Mostly.Gyaaah!
