Adobe: What's Mixed Content?
-
Perhaps in the future, they could try testing in Firefox, or any other browser that implements mixed-content security policies.
Even more of a WTF is that the company website for Webqam times out on the server side and throws a 500.
-
Maybe they're Republicans that only believe in traditional content.
-
Sure... I mean, encrypting hundreds of video streams is quite an overhead, so perhaps they wouldn't want to do it. But, Adobe's website forces HTTPS. Whoops.
-
Wrong kind of mixed content. Obviously they aren't talking about HTTP/HTTPS, they are talking about Flash being contained on a regular HTML page, instead of being a full flash app. Obviously this is doing it wrong.
-
You'd think Adobe of all people would get that one right, but no. It merely serves to demonstrate just how full of WTFery Flash is.
-
Because they were due to get something right?
-
Adobe did get things right, now they're in the 'too big to fail' category despite repeated WTFs.
-
Oh, definitely. I would far rather have a fullscreen metro app instead! That way I will be forced to pay attention to all the irrelevant and oft-repeated sections of the 2.5hr-long webcast without being able to do anything in another window. Brillant!
-
They've not needed to bother getting things right for years. Why would you, if lots of people are going to give you money either way?
-

Flash was really good until Apple and Jobs decided that they won't play with that rule on iPhone. Then suddenly everyone is creaming, "Flash is bad", "Flash is killing batteries", "Flash is causing unborn children to evaporate".
-
Pretty sure people were screaming that beforehand. I certainly was.
-
Cold Fusion was having MVC before Ruby on Rails was thinking about it.
-
Flash was
really goodkinda working on Windows only until Apple and Jobs decided that they won't play with that rule on iPhone.FTFY
-
FTFY
What are you saying? Flash was working on the many Mac machines. It was only when Apple went to Iphone they decided that Flash was bad.
-
No, really, Flash was bad on any platform long before Jobs issued the 'Death to Flash' memo.
There's only one good kind of Flash:

Sorry, not a
rich hipsterMac user. Kinda worked on Android. Hell to get running inside a browser on Linux. Also, even on Windows it always managed to make my browser choke sooner or later on a slower PC. And no, not talking antique, just what you'd consider an office use PC.At the same time Youtube was choking on a 320p blurry rectangle I was running 1080p webm videos no problem.

I am only amazed by the ignorance in the thread. Flash was a good technology, but what happened is three things.
- Too much power used for animation --> Unsuitable for mobile platform. Also all developer were doing like 400 fps and they had to slow it down for cell phone app.
- Adventure of HTML5 --> After HTML5 came on board they rallied for it.
- Hackers --> Too many loop holes and exploits in flash. Today also flash player updating steadily every week. Each time adobe find exploit, they close it. Average user refuse to patch and then suddenly someone is taking control of your box.
-
Flash was a good technology, but what happened is two things.
Good counting skills there.
1) Too much power used for animation --> Unsuitable for mobile platform. Also all developer were doing like 400 fps and they had to slow it down for cell phone app.
So...
Inefficient == good
now.3) Hackers --> Too many loop holes and exploits in flash.
Also,
insecure == good
.Today also flash player updating steadily every week.
Not on Linux. But yeah, fuck those guys, right?

What are you saying? It is updating on both linux as well as mac. Most linux systems are secure so patch work is not required as frequently as windows boxes.
Also insecure == bad, but fixing insecurity == good.
-
It is updating on both linux as well as mac.
As opposed to:11, 14, same crap.

I know you're a troll, but this... I don't even

I think you mean:

I know you're a troll, but this... I don't even
But in this case you are trolling me with your ignorance belief system. So I am failing to understand your statement. Is this some kind of Russian Reversal joke that I am not getting?
