Spoilers No Longer Working

Continuing the discussion from Licence? What licence? All your links are belong to us!:
Let's see: [spoiler] @Nagesh is not doing it wrong.[/spoiler]
Edit: Nope. Discourse broke spoilers. But they're still working in the FAQ.
Spoilers aren't currently working in new posts, as shown [spoiler]here[/spoiler].
However, it appears that pre-existing spoilers are still functional.

Yes, thank God, my stickman retains his dignity.

At least as long as no one clicks on his blurry box.

@codinghorror @sam @riking have left this part of the internets. Now you'll need to go to meta.discourse.com
and fire away.

If you edit a pre-existing one, it will break it.
They removed the bbcode/markdown whatever converter that put the "class='spoiler'" into the span for spoilers. Old ones still have it saved, editing them will trigger the engine to re-parse and jack it up.
-
It's worse than that. Try
[size=40]
or some other bbcode that uses span tags. It gets stripped out.
-
oh? so they didn't break spoilers, they broke spans as a whole?
Interesting.
Right before @sam and @codinghorror left too!
-
The original bug mentioned in this topic has been linked to a new topic on meta.discourse.org, to ensure that it is properly addressed.
I even had to create an account there (Uggh!). On the plus side, no one else can be @abarker on any discourse site anywhere!
-
Good thing, because spoilerplating is a very
usefulannoyingfun part of the forum.

I claimed my username too.But do you know how to turn this off?
http://www.discourse.org/users/ZeccI'm not comfortable with people knowing what other forums I visit (even if it's a empty set).
And the avatar on that page is still that gravatar thingy1, even if on meta it's the letter thingy2 (which I just saved so I can make a new avatar).
<figure><figcaption>1</figcaption></figure> <figure><figcaption>2</figcaption></figure>
Edit: there we go. Not my best work but it'll do for now. Before: After:Hopefully you'll find this avatar to be less of an assault on your vision.

But do you know how to turn this off?
http://www.discourse.org/users/ZeccDo you know how you even got there in the first place? Neither of these two are things for example:
http://www.discourse.org/users/PJH
http://www.discourse.org/users/pjheven though I'm registered with meta:
Does that give you any clues to how you might remove it?
Edit: there we go. Not my best work but it'll do for now.
Your Gravatar is still showing here...
-
Do you know how you even got there in the first place?
I got sent there by the confirmation email.@PJH said:Your Gravatar is still showing here...
I got an interesting mix of avatars before refreshing the page. Oh well, it's Discourse.
-
even though I'm registered with meta
Hmm.. but did you just register with meta or did you reserve your username globally?

Yes.
-
I felt tempted...
-
WTF??
Globally reserved my ass!
And creating this new account succeed, in case you're wondering.
-
I think they said they were getting rid of that "feature." Maybe the implementation's been gutted but the interface hasn't caught up yet?

It's on try - it'll get deleted within 24 hrs.

The forum must also have the option activated if I'm not mistaking.

Working [size=40][spoiler]here[/spoiler][/size].
The fix includes other bbcode that affects span tags as well, such as the
[size=40]
example that @ben_lubar mentioned.
-
[size=40][spoiler]Sweet[/spoiler][/size]
I guess 40 is as big as it goes? Good 'nuff
-
I guess 40 is as big as it goes? Good 'nuff
Though it does make you wonder why they would put a limit on it. All they need to do is take the value from the bbcode and drop it in the span tag. Probably some paranoia about people overwhelming a topic by making their letters massively oversized, or something.

BUG: Spoiled hashtags and large text are readable
Screw large text being sort of readable, using an anchor in the spoiler makes it perfectly legible and actually draws your attention to the spoiler!
[spoiler]see my anchor: case in point yep, that definitely is spoiled now.[/spoiler]

[size=40]Who would ever do something like that?[/size] Interesting, not only will it not make text bigger than 40, it won't work at all if you try. And [color=whatever] still doesn't work. :(
-
Hmmm, It doesn't even appear to parse any attempts at color:
[color=#FF0000]test[/color]
produces [color=#FF0000]test[/color]

Ok. True story about Taj Mahal. Emperor Shahjahan gave 1000 gold coins to the architect who designed it and then had his hands cut off, so he would not design anything like that. Just before cutting his hands, the architect made one small change to the structure. Now every time it rains, there are drops of water on Mumtaz's tomb.
Nobody told Emperor that true knowledge is not in hand, but in head. Of course nobody could build the Taj Mahal after the first one was innovated.

Hmmm, did you originally quote me with this comment? Should the notification go away if you change who you're replying to?

Hmmm, did you originally quote me with this comment?
By mistake, yes:
- Highlighted "michael gambon" to do a google search,
- then clicked reply on Ben's post, accidentally leaving the quote that was dropped in due to the highlight.
- Posted.
- Saw erroneous quote, and edited it out.
Should the notification go away if you change who you're replying to?
You got notified because I quoted you. Whether the notification should go away on edit-removal is up in the air...

Yeah, that's what I was referring to. It's very confusing since I can't see your edit history.

Something weird (again) going on with the post numbering in that topic. That takes me to the post before yours.

That one's PEBCAK. I middle clicked the link in the right gutter here, went to new tab and copied URL from the address bar - which by the time I'd got there had changed itself to the post before mine.
