Linebreaks breaking blockquotes

Continuing the discussion from How far is it appropriate to go in describing a WTF?:
Filed under: two line breaks will end a blockquote, seriously??
It appears one linebreak is sufficient to break the blockquote:
<blockquote> One linebreak: Two linebreaks: </blockquote><end of blockquote is here.
Produces:
One linebreak:
<end of blockquote is here.Two linebreaks:

Your one linebreak example is actually two linebreaks though.

I should have filed this bug myself. Thank you for your good work PJH.
I said two lines break because I counted the one at the end of the first line.
Worded differently, it's an empty line that breaks the quote.In fact I just made a quick test and this works:
<blockquote>a b </blockquote>
gives:
a b
So yeah, I think the problem is the empty line. It introduces a new paragraph, outside the blockquote.
