Bug category is gone after changing to 'regular' status

In the board navigation drop down bug category does not appear for me now, but I can create a new topic to that category.
Related: this appears to be true for all sub categories.

From the front screen, the first drop down only shows top level categories:
Once a category is picked, a second drop down appears next to it, for sub-level categories:

No dice. Interestingly mobile layout shows 4 categories, requesting the desktop site shows 7.

I'm aware how this works normally, but selecting it now just navigates workout allowing for sub category

Then you may want to try @PJH's suggestion and do a hard refresh. I can't say I've seen the same issue you have, and you are apparently at "Regular User" status.

So is this a mobile-only bug report? I am unclear which "board navigation drop down" you are referring to. Screenshot?

Refer to @PJH's screenshots - specifically, the one showing 4 categories.
@Matches's bug is that the category selector on the topic list has an invisible scrollbar.
