Notification of @ that is all wrong
-
So I had a notification today that looks to be all kinds of wrong. Top one in the image:
Note that @riking's last post in that topic was 6 days ago and no one in the topic has mentioned me at all. I've no idea what happened to get me that notification.
-
Yeah I keep getting those as well. Just crushing my hopes for a new like again and again :-)
-
Related: Nagesh performed the bug in the "Likes" topic, and the subsequent posts until @riking's are discussing it (and farming for likes), then riking repeated it with the switch to the mystery topic, leaving only the cryptic hint:
@riking said:It's a bug in the post creation pipeline. Somewhere. I won't elaborate... you're bound to figure it out anyways.

"Like Farmers".
We are farmers. Dun de dun dun dun dun dun.

The presumption, of course, is that if we discover it, we'll abuse it for fun and profit. Or just fun.
-
Yes, but I don't want to go through their source code to try and track what could be the cause of it giving a phantom @ notification for another topic, and I don't want to be super annoying and keep testing it with 21+ people being @ notified every post.
Now if someone else wants to look, and provide steps, oh yes, abuse abuse. But I'm
lazybusylazy and busy.

We find enough bugs for Discourse without fixing them for Discourse too.
