Post indicator stops showing post X/Y after 999 posts

Continuing the discussion from The Official "Likes" Thread:
So it does... I thought it looked a bit jacked up. Too wide to fit the text.
It simply shows X.
-
-
I assume it is a deliberate feature, considering in any topic with over 1000 posts (I verified on meta.discourse.org) the containing <span> of the "of X" part has a class added called "hidden", which sets
display: none;
.

I bet the idea is that a community that creates a 1000+ post topic deserves to have their members get stuck in them for eternity without knowing whether they will ever reach the bottom.
Filed Under: or they could hit end and see how many posts there are total.
-
Well, there's the green part of the progress bar that fills it up, so at least we have that.
-
Actually if you are in the middle the bar is still colored to the half way point, it's just the "of X" that is missing.
-
I ninja'd you by exactly 8.3 seconds.

True, true.
Goes to show how much attention I pay to the color green.
Maybe I'm green/grey color blind?

I'm guessing that's a WONTFIX then.

Maybe I'm green/grey color blind?
It's more likely that you're grey/white color blind. I don't blame you. Most colors on this site are just slightly different shades of white.
I hate it.

There is a reason for our rather bland theme, we want it to be easy to customise.
We even spen a fair amount of time making it trivial to customise:
-
I'm not complaining about the lack of colors. I'm complaining about the lack of contrast.
For example, borders are very faint (#E9E9E9 vs. #FFFFFF).
