Feature request: Poll voting sets topic to tracked
-
I noticed that voting in a poll does not, by itself, set the topic to tracked (if you don't have DC set to track everything automatically that is).
I think it makes sense to track the topic as if a reply was made since whoever voted did actively participate in the topic, much more so than just reading it for 4 minutes (or whatever the threshold is).

FYI this change would be in the plugin, right about here:
https://github.com/discourse/discourse/blob/master/plugins/poll/poll.rb#L154
-
Wait, polls aren't a core feature?
-
Nope, not a core feature, but shipped by default and default on.
-
Interesting approach. I suppose polls aren't necessarily the killer feature they used to be.
-
Unless you're Nagesh, apparently.
-
polls aren't necessarily the killer feature
What if... creating a poll launched a JavaScript power virus, causing your CPU to overheat and burst into flames, releasing toxic fumes? Ok, maybe not a killer feature, but at least it might discourage Nagesh from creating more polls.
-
That sounds like an excellent plan for the campaign. I'll help to write it...

Sounds like we should take some comments on this idea, anyone up for creating a Poll on it?
-
Killer feature? Nagesh is still alive.
What if... creating a poll launched a JavaScript power virus, causing your CPU to overheat and burst into flames, releasing toxic fumes?
Wouldn't that be standard Discourse behavior? rimshotFiled under: the feature is clearly broken as designed, then

TRWTF: not having a poll to decide whether we need a poll.

Shades of today's comment thread…

Not necessary. Part of Discourse Core.

Its really just left over code from when we were calculating bitcoin hashes on clients

Whoa! Do you think it's safe to jump right into the pre-poll without a poll?

That is explaining multiple notification I am getting on same post.

causing your CPU to overheat and burst into flames, releasing toxic fumes
Didn't we prove this here?
