Having SOME element that is a permalink for right-clicking on
The date at top right of the post works like this, ala Twitter. @sam neglected to mention the third way to get a link to a post, its timestamp. You ignored this part:

Let me state things clearly: Ctrl+click should open in new tab. Now it just duplicates the share link pop-in box... Or is this just something that was also never requested on any of the other thousand Discourse installs too?

Right click, Open in New Tab seems to work on the post timestamp -- as does middle click. So no, I guess we don't have too many ctrl+click users.

I moved 2 posts to an existing topic: (foo bar) ignores bolding

I usually Ctrl+馃憜 when I'm using my laptop because its touchpad doesn't have a middle button.

That might be okay (as a workaround) if the functionality of accessing that share stuff wouldn't already be a single click away elsewhere. But right click + visually seeking "open in new tab" + moving mouse to that position + second click is a bit</understatement> of a needless effort, isn't it?

This might be fixed? @zogstrip did your change fix it?
