Music video WTFs

What's your favorite music video WTF?
My current favorite is this ball of insanity:
DJ Snake, Lil Jon - Turn Down for What – 03:37
— DJSnakeVEVOSo many things to love about this video. So. Many. Things.
this music video will go down in history as one of the all-time greats, alongside “weapon of choice” and “sabotage”
I am not quite sure it's at the level of those, but it's.. surprisingly close, for me.
p.s. I'm typing this comment from the floor of my house as I wait for the ambulance to come fix my broken pelvis.

I have to think this is not the way you want to treat your biggest pop stars:
S.H.E [星光 Star Light] Official Music Video (真命天女 電視原聲帶) – 03:56
— 華研國際

My current favorite is this ball of insanity:
There's a fairly amusing review of this one.
As for WTFs, there's this:
Men Without Hats - The Safety Dance(long version) – 04:32
— mahazeroOr with a funny as hell literal lyrics version:
Men without hats - Safety Dance literal version – 02:46
— HystericTV
-
That sinking feeling when you realize you had Gmail open, so this just went to your YouTube history.
PS: I haven't seen that many literal versions, but my favourite is Total Eclipse of the Heart

What does the fox say?
Ylvis - The Fox (What Does The Fox Say?) [Official music video HD] – 03:45
— TV Norge

I've always enjoyed the Chemical Brothers' rendition of a youthful Moroccan crime spree.
The Chemical Brothers - Do It Again – 04:34
— ChemicalBrothersVEVO
-
On my phone so I can't be bothered to track down the link(s) but pretty much anything by Die Antwoord. (Beat Boy and Enter the Ninja come to mind)
-
Holy, crap, the amount of shot reuse in the first video is unreal. Also bad lip-sync...

At old age you should only do stunts that your body can handle. My grand-father also had sudden urge to do disco dancing and then he broke his hip. Now we are all dancing to hospital to get lunch and dinner to him.

Hospital food is bland and testless. So he needs to eat good home cooked meals.

They only use five peppers for a plate of food instead of seventeen?

This is how we designed Discourse
The Left Rights - "I'M ON CRACK" Music Video – 01:54
— Mindless Self IndulgenceAlso this is our software engineering process depicted in visual form
-
I wonder if there will be a day that software engineering/production will not be like this, all day, every day.
But I also wonder if older forms of production (carpenting? EE? construction?) actually suffer from the same problems, and we're just too blinkered to notice and don't want to give up our stupid in-jokeyjokes.
-
But I also wonder if older forms of production (carpenting? EE? construction?) actually suffer from the same problems
I don't know about carpentry or construction, but EE? Heck, yeah! These days most EE (at least digital) consists of writing software models of what you want the circuit/logic to do, then writing software to test that model, then running the model through a special compiler that makes the hardware from the model. And writing scripts to automate various parts of the process. And Excel. Specs are written in Excel. And VBA, to turn the spreadsheets into models of (parts of) the design.
Why else would a hardware geek like me be here?

Well, hardware geek can also mean that you know all the specs of all the video cards, and you don't have to look up what those weird dashed numbers mean every time you want to get some more RAM.

Um, well, that person would also be a hardware geek, but not a hardware geek like me. So there.
-
Well, I thought you were that kind of hardware geek.

A few people — the geekiest of the hardware geeks — write the base libraries that those special compilers use in synthesis, the actual descriptions of the individual pieces that hit the hardware. We've got one of them at work; he's a bit… well, let's just say he fits the stereotype pretty well.

You tell that to my lecturers. Most of them still believe that with a soldering iron and a few 74xx chips they can rule the world.
Filed under: specifically NAND gates, homebrewing PCBs... the horrors, the horrors...

Let's see them make a bus or a network card with those NAND gates.

computers are analog devices and only pretend to be digital
I've always considered "digital" to be a subset of "analog".

"sufficiently digital"

Just straight from the streets of Brussels ... nobody knew they where making a music video and the officers really stepped in it. They recognized the artist (Je suis un grand fan!) and let him get away with it. Stromae did a similar trick again in the montreal metro.
Conveniently with english subtitles for all non-french speaking people.
Stromae - Formidable (ceci n'est pas une leçon) – 04:54
— Stromae
