Fatal1ty nonsensical motherboard ad

Left side: "Latency lowered up to 136%"? Do they really mean my Death Ray will go off 30 milliseconds before I cast it? Well, that's what they're saying.
Right side: Other apps' network traffic gets to travel in a straight line, but gaming traffic doesn't...

Not lowered 136%.
Lowered up to 136%.
A range of numbers which includes the value "zero".

It can lower LOL latency by up to 136%. Who wouldn't want faster LOLs?

Just as long as it only blows up momentarily, and not permanently, I don't mind.

I'm more interested in how they managed to cut your ping in half with a hardware upgrade located between your CPU and your network card.
Let's say it takes light 100ms to travel the distance from my computer to the server and back. This motherboard will make light travel TWICE AS FAST.

You are thinking of tachyons, not neutrinos. Neutrinos probably travel at-or-below c.

Goddamn, CERN, can you do anything right?

Nah -- it's onboard Ethernet, with the port built into the magic chip. Nobody uses a separate network card in a battlestation anymore, unless they can't get a wire pulled to the router and have to resort to Wi-Fi.

So that's what happened to the Killer NIC. I always wondered why nobody ever compared it to one of the cheap Intel PCIe NICs.
-
Okay, so they claim to make LOL, Diablo3 and DOTA2 faster, but they haven't addressed the most important question:
Does it make Grumpy Cat any faster? That's what users really want.

Yes, Grumpy Cat is up to* 4 milliseconds faster.

What happened to Fatal1ty anyway? He was huge for like a year when FPS were the esport of choice, and then he just disappeared completely. I guess he's probably just coasting on the royalties from these mobos and some peripherals.
Wonder how those Koreans do it? Bomber and the other bonjwas still seem to have some C-list celebrity name recognition over there.

If you think a mobo costing over 100 bucks is a WTF, you're probably an AMD user. Do you happen to own a $500 "smart"phone?

Because the Intel NICs perform the same and are much cheaper. Realtek's bottom-of-the-barrel solutions are close in performance, and much much cheaper.

Neutrinos are smaller, so they don't bump into things as much. They get there faster even though their speed is the same as light.

Seems legit.

Time dilation. To the neutrinos, as the observer, you're both moving at the same speed, while in reality, your prius is quantum entangling the dark matter and moving at warp 3.
