You're stupid -- but not for the reason we thought

First it was reported that nearly half of Americans believe Astrology is "scientific". But that study was wrong. It turns out that the people surveyed don't know the difference between Astrology and Astronomy.
-
That was actually my first suspicion when I heard the result.
-
And this is why it's important to be pedantic about things.
-
But how many of us think that "President Alexander Hamilton...[was] one of our greatest presidents and most widely recognized for establishing the country’s financial system?"
-
If I were to do a survey to see if people thought "phisicks" was a branch of science, most people would assume I was bad at pronouncing words. I conjecture these people didn't know that astrology was a thing.

It sounds like a science. Anything that ends in "-ics" or "-ology" is automagically a science to people. Even (or especially) when the first part of the word is "Dianet-" or "Scient-".

Pointless. They're all women. They cannot be understood by men. If the study were to be conducted by women, the results would not be understandable by men. Women would not need the study; women named Diane are unlikely to be different from any other women to any statistically significant degree, and women already understand each other.Dianetology

More to the point, Chemistry and Astronomy and Science apparently aren't sciences.
