Want to surf the social wave? Great opportunity in California! (not spam, well not really)

  • What an exciting opportunity!*

As a Social Media Intern, you'll be in charge of creating celebrity brand awareness for Mr. Panther Pants (a very stylish cat) by monitoring his presence through various social media channels. This position will be one day per week at my studio in Marina del Rey. During that time we will be creating all content and scheduling it to roll out for the following week.

    Responsibilities:

    · Generate content for the Mr. Panther Pants campaign.

    · Manage Mr. Panther Pants blog.

    · Manage presence across Facebook, Pinterest, Youtube and Twitter and identify any emerging platforms.

    · Engage cat enthusiasts and identify new ways to activate participation and feedback.

    · Reach out to and build relationships with top bloggers and local community groups.

This position is for College Credit / Resume Building / Solid Job Reference only and is a non-paying position.

    Apply here.

Lousy internship opportunities are not something new. But there is something about the current social Gold Rush that is plain wrong. When I think about that Marina Del Rey studio, which must be filled Apple computers and cheap Ikea furniture, I'm getting nauseous. This trend is a lot worse than the Quants/HedgeFund hysteria of the early 2000s.

    * yes Ben L., sounds perfect for you!

It's the cat equivalent of "birthday suit". It's also slightly racist because the cat has black fur like a panther. You're correct that this is what "panther pants" means.

  •  I can't imagine trying to put a shirt and tie on a cat. I'm surprised the shirt isn't covered in the blood of the poor soul tasked with that.

If you're exposed to the kind of person who would put a shirt on a cat, day in and day out, eventually you will simply lose the ability to fight back. It's basically the model the public education system uses.

You must have gone to a better public school than I did.  They never taught me how to put a shirt on a cat; I had to learn that at home from my mother.

Everbody thinks things are new for them. Go back and watch the season of Seinfeld where Kramer decided he wanted an intern for a counterexample.

That discussion appears to be headed in an interesting direction. Since you don't read posts before replying but merely guess what the other person meant, here is the PIN for my ATM card: 5633.

What about a hat on a fish?

  • Woah, woah, woah!!!!!!

P.s. appologise for crazy formatting errors cus I'm using chrome and putting the line breaks in myself, also apologize to any grammer nazis for spelling etc cus I'm REALLY drunk.

I llike to take my forum mentality escalation more slowy, we should start with pants and move up to racisms....

That asside I should point out, I am a cat person, I love cats....

Oh hang on, I get it, I can see the meta-troll now.

I quit, I'm too retarded to work this out.

That only explains half of your post. As for the other half: were your parents blood-related?

So is it racist that I refer to two of my feral colony (total population at last census: about seven) as "Mac" and "Doug"?

    Short for "McDonnell" and "Douglas".

    Because they're both jet black.

THAT'S SEXIST. I don't care what you call dead male bodies but the body of a woman is a sacred temple of love and wisdom, not a sexual object, and even if the lights went out like a candle in the wind there is no justification for your obscene sexist disgusting bullshit. I guess you think it's funny that 3 women out of 3 will die some day but that's a real fact and if society turns a blind eye it's because it is a repugnant swamp full of patriarcal dinosaurs like you.

What people don't know is that the original expression was not "no means no", it was "no means not now coz i'm busy spending your money" but it did not fit on the pins so it got truncated by a careless typographist.

Certainly not the monkey who designed the CSS that allows an unconstrained (original size) image tag inside a constrained (percentage width) div tag.

Is it too much to ask on a fucking tech forum about industry WTFs, to at least get the basics of website layout correct ?

    Yes.

It also has a certain irony about it, so everyone kinda likes it like that. Or at least, everyone likes the way that everyone hates it. Something like that.

  • To reply to the signing out thing.... yeah fire safety, scanning the replies I see that has been covered so no further comment needed there..... If I read all of them I will probably see more in depth discussion but I just scanned over and saw a lot of typical forum stylee arguing.

I don't really care, and as you will see if you look at my other posts, I am now as I like to be, Titty much Protally Fit Shaced. (Morbo).

But if you think signing out was bad.... how about being frisked out.

I used to work at this place where had so little trust in their employees (and rightly so because they paid peanuts and hired loosers like me!) that getting out at the end of the day involved a pat down and full body metal detector sweep!
Lets start a forum style rant about that!

You wanna get a massive steel cod-piece down your underpants.

When the security guard wants to know what you're hiding in your crotch, you whip out the warm hunk of metal, still clammy with your ball sweat, and place it directly into his hands.

Ideally, have two of them, so that when the disgusted guard complains to someone higher up, you can astonish that manager by doing it again.
