If you add the following to the custom stylesheet: pre { white-space: pre-wrap; } suddenly the problem goes away. You can still use <pre> to keep line breaks and other whitespace, but instead of happily hopping off the side of the post, never to be seen again, it simply continues on the next line. Exactly. I have never had a problem with any of my posts "running off the side of the page". As shitty as CS is, everythng seems to wrap just fine on its own. I sometimes see posts by others that run off the side of the page, but I just assume they are idiots who did something stupid. Like put a <pre> tag in where it isn't needed.

The irony, of course, being that Ben regularly makes posts that run off the side of the page because he embeds 2000px wide images in them. So to hear him complain about this (and in such an annoying, unproductive, "Look at me!" kind of way) is silly.
