    Edgar,

I can't open the SQL files. What do I need to open them?

    Dear Nameless,

    Notepad might work.

  • lol.

He probably tried to double-click on it and windows brought up the
dialog that asks you to choose which program to use to open the file. I
believe on newer versions of windows, SQL files are automatically
opened in notepad or wordpad without the user having to specify this
the first time but I'm not sure.

Maybe this guy spends too much time doing Cobol programming and doesn't
know how to use windows any better than someone computer illiterate?

Quote possible. Some time ago we had a company-internal LAN party and
one guy was invited who apparently did exclusively Cobol stuff. He was
absolutely amazed at what he saw; obviously he'd never seen a modern 3D
game. The kicker was: he'd brought his notebook computer from work,
which was pretty new and perfectly capable of doing such games - only
he apparently used it exclusively to log into his mainframes via a
terminal app - who cares about the last 30 years of technological
    development in computer hardware?

Heh, he probably thought he was dreaming and the stuff you were showing him couldn't possibly be real.
