What qualifies this as a Safari bug rather than a CS bug?

Works for me on iOS 6.1.3.

I like how it has “iPad” written on-screen in the top left corner (as well as on the back). Not like some of those other devices where you could easily forget what device you're using.

In all fairness, that's where iOS typically writes the carrier name. It's like a friend's car that says "MALIBU" on the dashboard, just in case you forget what you should be drinking as you get in. I mean, what you're driving.

When you shut off Cellular (or have a WiFi only iPad), it shows iPad in the menubar.
Mine says "Bell" when I decide that 3G is a good idea.

What's an iPad, anyways? I keep hearing people talking about them, but I never really see anything about them in the news. The only thing I heard was that it's like a Palm Pilot but without a stylus. I guess it's voice input only, then-- or do you have to wear a fingerpad to simulate a stylus?

Over here, the Orange/T-Mobile merger finally became public at the end of last year; they became EE (Everything Everywhere - or as their idiotic logo makes it appear: 8EE). My iPhone went from saying Orange next to the reception bar, to "Oran/T-Mob" - which scrolled backwards and forwards infuriatingly for no reason because if they stopped fading the letters and scrolling it there was enough room for the text word to fit at once - and now it says "EE" ... except for when it doesn't.
It would appear that, AFAIK, the name is based on the carrier name as broadcast by the local tower. At home, our tower was recently refurbished (with 3G, snazzy stuff!) and says "EE" - but if I go to my parents house, the closest tower there still broadcasts "Orange" even though Orange technically no longer exists.

Bizarre.
You for sure had a [local operator company X, owned by Orange] and [local operator company Y, owned by T-Mobile], but if one of the big corps would buy out the other local telco, they'd consolidate under their brand.
So sounds like a 3rd corp, using the EE brand, came and bought both telco X and telco Y from their former owners.

Adding to that, T-Mobile in the UK *was* the actual UK branch of Deutsch Telecom, though I'm not entirely sure about Orange (who are also in part Wanadoo, Tiscali and FreeServe).
