Disposed Review

  • Trolleybus Mechanic

In Ontario, there is a small environmental surcharge on things like paints, electronics, etc.  Presumably, it gets collected and used to dispose of hazardous materials, e-waste, etc. Most every store automatically adds it to your invoice as a line item.

So without further comment, I present you the BI that is Tiger Direct:

I did now, and SO CAN YOU!

I was skeptical when first adding this item to my virtual e-basket. Would it perform well? What are its nutritional values? I've tried several brands of dog biscuits, but I still do not have a shiny coat.

This product did not fail to satisfy! Its hard nature made it perfect for not only exercising my teeth and jaws, but also for common household tasks like opening the garage door, and balancing my ceiling fan. My neighbor uses the cheese flavoring to fix the leak in his basement!

The only reason I could not give FIVE STAR is because of the horrific wailing of lost souls that emanates from within the box, from a depth of a billion miles beneath sanity. You would think that getting an extra dimension is a bonus with product, but not all dog biscuits need bonuses. My dog now barks backwards and in tongues.

    The what now?

TRWTF is yet another unintended consequence from government over-regulation.

I am also interested in what the hell BI is supposed to mean.

Also, in how this is governmental over-regulation. The state imposing a tax for the good of a publicly owned resource sounds sensible to me.

  • Are you trying for another Three Wolf Moon series of reviews?

Oh, that BI. So many expensive ways to help middle management make unhelpful charts of meaningless customer trends.

I've dealt with a lot of vendor reps in that area (I'm naturally hostile to salesmen, so bosses tend to throw me at them, knowing I'll tear apart crappy products and beat down prices on good ones), and not one of them could give me a decent reason why I'd want to know any of the things their fancy systems could tell me.

Not a very productive use of time. After working in the sales process you learn to skip people like you and speak to the boss/another team member.

It was basically policy that they had to deal with me. The boss would kick them to me, and they weren't given any chance to sidestep that.

Maybe hostile is too strong a word to get the point across. I generally dislike and am extremely suspicious of salespeople, and give them a harder time than most people.

I'm not overtly hostile to them, but I also don't get into the "we're friends now" mindset, or get enthusiastic about stuff that's just not particularly useful.
For me it's always "You want $x from the company I work for, so show me at least $x in value and maybe we can work something out".
