The Moaner

  • The team that sits next to us just hired a new girl. Her desk is right next to mine. She's in her late 20's, and sort of decent looking.

She spent all of the first day at her desk, moaning - in a verrrrrry sexual way.

Most folks would just keep saying: uh huh, mmm-hm, or such as you explained stuff to them. This one just lets out these deep, drawn out groaning moans.

Guys were coming (no pun intended) from all over the building just to explain stuff to her.

My boss happened by to chat with me, heard the repeated moans from behind him, spun around and then remembered he's married.

This should be good for a post or two...

  • So are you saying that you need to get some new headphones?

  • Are you hiring?

  •  MP3 or it didn't happen.

  • 🚽 Regular

Geez, you've got to be quite desperate if you've read all of Snoofle's other WTF stories from his job and the moment he mentions a story like this you want to get hired.

    Besides, I call dibs.

No, the job looks nice. It's like spending the entire day looking at TDWTF, every day. What could be more fun?

Don't forget that you'll also be writing wtf code and thus contributing to our and your chief source of entertainment.

"Girl" does not apply to a female in her late 20s. By then she is called a lady because she is way past her "best before" date; being so many years after college she probably won't do oral sex (except for a raise) and odds are that she gave birth to at least one kid, which makes regular sex as pleasant as dipping a carrot in a big bowl of salsa. Dudes in your company must be a bunch of fools or real garbage pickers. Anyways beware of whatever code she checks in, she clearly can't do self-assessments otherwise she would stop moaning and start bringing cupcakes and fudge.

  • Speakerphone Dude, you're wrong on every single point in your post, not to mention sexist and ageist. But that's not surprising, since a) your other posts here have already revealed you to be under 20 yourself, and b) obviously you're trolling.

Can you pinpoint exactly what is sexist or ageist in the post? Of course not. You are just using strong words without understanding their meaning, like people who call conservative politicians "fascists". Worse, by being a politically-correct wuss wannabe you just insulted every single person that has been a victim of actual sexism or ageism, both of which are unfortunately prevalent in IT.

A woman in her late 20s should not be called a "girl". Just like a man in his late 20s should not be called a "boy". That is not sexism or ageism, that is common courtesy. And if you are offended by someone making fun of how women try to get attention from coworkers, then you are not only a wuss but also a dullard.

  • I think I'm going to leave further replies to one of the ladies past their sell-by date valued female members of this forum to provide a more accurate (and less opinionated) insight as to the contribution they can make to the IT world in general.

I know for a fact that if I was female, I'd find your comments fuckwitted.

However, I'm male.. and can still see fuckwittery in your comments.

I'm pretty sure that every single thing said by Speakerphone has been incredibly fuckwitted.

If I had said "fuckwited" things more than once over the last two months, then it would stop being "incredible" after a while for anyone who has reached some level of emotional maturity. Either you exaggerate (making you a drama queen) or you make fusses for no reason (making you also a drama queen).

You can print this award for your records.

    You betcha

I am assuming that her desk is in its own office (with a door), and not a cubicle.

His post might be fuckwitted, but I didn't pick up that it was sexist or ageist.  As to groaner-girl, that IS a wtf.  There are too many guys out there who spring a woody and start stalking you if you so much as say "hi", I can't imagine the result of groaning in public like that.  And moaning at work...?  In my 20+ year career, I've let out a few moans, but they were more of the "oh god, kill me now" variety.  My most common exclamations at work are more like what you guys could be expected to put out:  cursing like a sailor.

That is weird, and I could see how it could be distracting. What provokes the moaning, the WTF stuff you report? A pocket rocket vibrator??

I think it was the implication that a "lady" is any female past their "best before" date and that she would participate in oral sex to obtain a raise.

Actually.. you're correct.. he didn't say what it would raise... I made assumptions on that front. Scrub that.

Either way, I imagined many females would have found it offensive at best.
