The Fastest/Shortest Route?

Some people write some pretty fancy software, and some don't!

actually, I just changed the parameter "quickest" to "longuest" in your
URL; I didn't know if it was going to work, but it seems to ;-)

I've never trusted mappoint's route-seeking any more than I trust this forum software when quoting.
I've found that by following the directions it spews forth is a good way to get lost.

So you should travel 1600 miles to save 4 hours time. But if you like to take the short route, it will only be less than 400 miles. Amazing that a route that is 4 times longer will take 4 hours less...
But the problem is that it might actually be the fastest route! All those fjords and little island on the coast of Norway might make certain boat trips impossible. Perhaps there just isn't a direct route between these two points... [:$]

Amusingly, if you click on "reverse directions", you get a more
sensible straight through route. Clicking on "reverse directions" again
takes you back to the absurd cross-continental tour.[:D]
Perhaps someone in Norway made a one-way street and failed to make a
one-way street going back the other way? Does everyone in Norway now
only live in one half of the country since they can't get home again?[;)][;)]

My sister lives in norway and each time she moves she gets further and further away from her family in Denmark. I'm scared of visiting her because I dont know if there's any way to get home again. [:P]

For the dutch peeps: no I'm not refering to a "bril" which is dutch for
glasses and incidently happens to be the name of the topicstarter.

FYI - They seemed to have fixed the routing, now when I click on the link, it does show a much more reasonable route.
